The Team

Malcolm Anderson

Malcolm first started designing visitor experiences in the early 1980’s. Since that time he has continued to promote modern interpretation practices and apply fresh thinking to developing new approaches to engaging and managing visitors.

Malcolm has previously been awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship to review Interpretation in North America and is a Fellow of the Executive Development Institute for Tourism at the University of Manoa (Hawaii). Malcolm has previously worked in Project Director, Managerial and General Manager roles for the Boyle River Outdoor Education Centre,  Department of Conservation, Real Journeys, the Tourism Industry Association of NZ, the Mackenzie Heritage Centre, Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari, the Museum of Transport and Technology and Enterprise Dunedin – the Regional Tourism Orgnaisation for Dunedin.

Malcolm is well known for both his former regional and national roles in developing unit standards for interpretation, iwi liaison, product development, destination management, resource management, DOC concessions, sustainability,  expedition leading and guest lecturing, small business toolkits and the fore-runner (for the outdoor sector) to Qualmark.

Malcolm is a renown speaker and has spoken to a wide range of domestic and international audiences on topics including: sustainable tourism, interpretation, quality standards and a wide range of topics in his role as guest lecturer on cruise ships.

Malcolm works nationally from his base overlooking the picturesque Akaroa Harbour.
